I provided practical guidance on tenant rights, requirements, and regulatory compliance to the migrant community, helping reduce barriers to housing access and promoting the formalization of lease agreements in the state.
As an advisor at the Consulate of Colombia in Orlando, I had the honor of guiding the case that enabled the first change of sex designation on official documents for a minor for consular and foreign residency purposes. This milestone not only set a legal precedent for Colombia, but also reaffirmed my commitment to the defense of rights and the ethical practice of law beyond borders.
International Legal Milestone: Technical Structuring of the First China–Colombia Repatriation
Supported the legal and technical formulation that enabled the first repatriation of a Colombian national sentenced to life imprisonment in China. Given the complexity of reconciling two fundamentally different criminal justice systems, my role focused on developing arguments grounded in principles of International Law and humanitarian considerations, as well as coordinating interinstitutional efforts with the technical working group of the Ministry of Justice.
